After the LFP's
decision to replay the Metz-Lyon match and sanction the three-point garnet
club, including a suspended one, its president, Bernard Serin, believes that
the League "punishes the victim".
Bernard Serin (President
of FC Metz) after the decision of the disciplinary commission of the LFP:
"This is an incomprehensible decision because it means that now in French
football, the clubs and the championship have become the hostages of a few
individuals to Which confers the power to influence sports competitions. FC
Metz is a victim and the commission has chosen to punish one of the victims to
deter the real culprits, who have been arrested and placed under judicial
control. We of course reserve the right to appeal this decision, which will not
help to combat the repetition of such incidents. "
