Despite satisfactory
content in the game, Morocco lacked efficiency and the Atlas Lions were
surprised by Finland (0-1) on Monday in friendly match. With a number decimated
before the Gabonese AFCON, Herve Renard conceded his first defeat since his
arrival.
After the break and
Scandinavian goal, Renard launched Carcela-Gonzalez, El Kaddouri and Boutaib
with a result not more satisfactory: the Lions did the game in the opposing
camp, but with more difficulty to penetrate the surface. When that was the
case, Boutaib failed to straighten out two heads that could have been
dangerous. And Finland almost punished the Moroccan ineffectiveness a second
time, but the Nordiques missed the frame again five minutes to the end.
Inevitable because of the absentees, the deficit in the creation will have been
visible, especially at the end, but the major problem does not change for
Renard: it lacks a finisher.
