Cristiano Ronaldo, in
an interview with the Cadena COPE, was the victim of a "media
campaign" after the suspicions of tax evasion revealed by the
investigations of the FIFA Football Leaks.

riposte. The Portuguese striker of Real Madrid denounced on Tuesday the media
campaigns that targeted him before the award of the FIFA prize of the best
player of the year 2016 related in particular to his involvement in the scandal
of "Football Leaks" .
"There have been
many ... campaigns against me, in football and out of football too," he
told the Spanish radio station Cadena COPE. "We wanted to hit on all sides
but 'The Best' was 'The Best' and it's me, so I'm very happy."
The 31-year-old was
awarded on Monday the "Best" award for the first time by the world
football authority, after an exceptional year that saw him win the Champions
League with Real Madrid and Euro 2016 with Portugal.
